A little over a year ago, I started dreaming about this.
A little over a year ago, I started dreaming about what it might look like to have a seat on the school board.
As a mom of four very active boys, I want them to be part of a community school that can meet them where they are — academically and socially.
Zachary has built a solid foundation, and the environment around our schools is changing. Families have more choices, expectations are higher, and maintaining excellence requires everyone to play their part. Our roles may look different, but we can move toward a common goal.
I want to be part of that movement.
In my personal and professional life, I often come back to two questions:
What's going well?
What can we do differently?
The first helps us recognize what's working. The second creates space to name where we can improve — and to act on it. Different perspectives can lead to more thoughtful, holistic outcomes.
That is why I'm running for Zachary School Board, District 3.
I look forward to listening, asking the hard questions, and getting to work as we shape the future for our children.
A neighbor, not a stranger.
Rebecca is wife to Jonathan, mom of four boys, and a proud member of the Zachary community. She is an Organizational Effectiveness consultant who works with leaders and organizations to strengthen how people, teams, and systems work together.
She is running for Zachary School Board, District 3, because she believes our schools are worth investing in and our community deserves thoughtful, engaged leadership. Rebecca brings a practical, action-oriented approach — listening carefully, asking the direct questions that need asking even when they're uncomfortable, and following through on decisions that serve students, teachers, families, and the community.
Rebecca comes from a family of educators and school administrators. Her husband, Jonathan, grew up in Zachary and came up through ZCSD schools himself; he returned to teach physics and chemistry at Zachary High for five years, where he also coached cross country and track. Today he coaches cross country at Copper Mill and will coach boys soccer there this season. Between the two of them, Zachary schools aren't just a place on a map — they're where this family has spent its whole life.
Rebecca is not affiliated with any political party. She sees that as a strength: it means every decision she makes on the board answers only to Zachary's students, teachers, and families — not to a party platform.
This campaign starts with listening.
Parents, students, educators, neighbors — whoever you are, tell Rebecca what's actually going on. She isn't on the board yet, so she can't promise to fix anything from here. What she can promise is to listen, ask better questions in public, and practice the leadership she's asking you to trust her with.

Listen
Effective leadership starts with the people closest to an issue — parents, teachers, students, and neighbors.
Ask
Good leadership means asking the questions others avoid, even when the answers are uncomfortable. Rebecca asks before she assumes — and she doesn't stop at the easy ones.
Build
Listening and asking only matter if they lead somewhere. Rebecca is action-oriented — turning what she hears into decisions, and decisions into follow-through.
This isn't reserved for parents, teachers, and administrators. You don't need a child enrolled in ZCSD today to have a stake in this seat — strong schools shape property values, the local economy, and what it means to live in Zachary, for parents, grandparents, retirees, alumni, and every neighbor in District 3. There's a place for you in listening, asking, and building alongside Rebecca.
